Bjalla is a monotheistic religion that worships Bjall, the god of the land, justice, and purity. It is the largest religion of Erdre and the nations to the east of the main continent are refereed to as The States of Bjall because of it.
Adherence varies, but at the very least, Bjallans strive to abide by Bjall's teachings, pray to him, and have a shrine in either their home or village. Many settlements have temples where people will go for more devoted prayer.
In many communities, it is a high honor to become a priest of Bjall. Children will start at a young age as fledglings, but few have the will to pass and become a priest. As a fledgling, they are not allowed to eat meat, alter their body (no tattoos, piercings, or cutting hair), or have intimacy with another person. They are required to take yearly pilgrimages to temples and shrines around Erdre and learn healing magic. The final test of a fledgling is to revive a person from near death back to life; after they succeed, they will appear before a high priest to see if they are worthy of becoming a priest themselves.
Other than priests, Bjallans also have monks, warriors of Bjall. Becoming a fledgling monk is similar to a fledgling priest although they are required to live in a temple among other monks and train to fight. Monks, however, do not receive as intense healing training.
