Tunes (Tunisi) is the largest city of Tunisia, of which it is also the capital. Arguably the most important trade centre of all the Quarta Sponda, Tunisi is the seat of power of the beys that rule Tunisia, and a bustling hub of commerce between Berber and Italian merchants; the many palaces and temples of the city stand as a testimony to the great wealth gained by the lords of the city, while the vast harbours are constantly filled with ships flying the colours of Venezia, Genova, Pisa, and the other Italian trading republics.
