Zeneise or Ligurian is the language most spoken in the region of Liguria, and official and most spoken language of all the Republic of Zena. As such, it can be heard across all the colonies of San Giorgio in the Mediterranean. Quite codified, the Ligurian language has a rich literary production, and it has become a sort of lingua franca for merchants who do their business in the western Mediterranean. Sample text:
"E tanti sun li Zenoexi, e per lo mondo sì destexi, che und'eli van o stan un'atra Zena ge fan."
(The Genoese are so many, and so sparse all over the world, that wherever they go or stay they make another Genoa.)
