"It is said that in the beginning, all was as nothing.
Just dust, floating in the void.
A nameless being, a wanderer of the darkness, took the stardust and wove it together.
Their tears became great oceans, and their labored breath filled the skies.
Then, they moved on.
Thus, Aema was made."
Aema is a medieval fantasy world. Humans are the most prevalent, and elves, dwarves, gnomes, and other such races are merely myths lost to time.
"From Aema's earth and skies and seas, five gods were born.
Charon was the first.
He walked upon Aema's soil, and wherever he tread, trees and animals burst forth in life. Many years passed, and the world was soon beautiful. But, Charon was alone.
Aema, sensing her child's despair, created four more, and each was granted great power.
Aed, passionate and wild, danced across the earth, bright red flame bursting with each step. Naoma, deep and detached, pulled water from the seas to rain upon the land. Ia, carefree and quick-witted, spoke to the skies, voice becoming the wind in the leaves. Drusus, strong and sturdy, carved valleys and built mountains with his great hands. Then, before falling into a deep slumber, Aema created humankind.
Aed, Naoma, Ia, and Drusus cared for the humans, and protected them. They were also envious of their mortality. They wanted to experience the brevity of life, so, one by one, they shared their powers with the world, becoming mortal.
Thus, magic was born"
