For centuries, nobody could cross the Taira Sea. Perhaps nobody ever had. There were legends of course. Various adventurers of myth had made the journey across the sea and back, but these men were long dead. It was a great sea and never to be crossed again.
That all changed when Rigon sailed back from the east on his father's ship. The people of Swelldon were in awe with disbelief and excitement. The Stitching shrunk the great sea. It was still an obsticle, but the citizens knew what was on the other side and they could get there. Over time, trade routes become better established and traversing the Taira is a way of life for many people.
