Summary

The Newfies are the descendants of European settlers who came to live in Newfoundland across several decades: mostly of Gaelic descent (either Irish or Scottish), there are also some drops of Norse blood among them. The Newfoundlanders are a proud and hardy folk, mostly fishermen and hunters, who constantly wage attrition warfare against the Mi'kmaq tribes who still live in the interior of their island. Sometimes they can be seen as mercenaries, fighting for the lords of much of North America.
