Summary

Deseret is a dry, windy region in the southern reaches of the Rocky Mountains, which is unified in a single kingdom by Josef Smiþ, founder of Mormonism. According to Josef's intricate religious narrative, Deseret was the homeland of an ancient people: in their tongue, Deseret meany honeybee, and that is why a beehive is the kingdom's seal. The realm stretches from the Wasatch mountains to the Great Salt Lake, where the uncreatively named capital of Sealt Laac Baurh stands. It is organized in a manner not too different from feudalism, however with differences of a mostly religious nature, as the Mormon Church has a huge weight on the social life of the people, and often covers important role in the kingdom's administration: this allowed Deseret to become much more centralized than the norm for a European kingdom.
